"Heineke Builders were recommended to me by my Architect (a long time consultant from previous projects).
Based on this recommendation we engaged Heineke Builders to undertake a significant redevelopment project requiring the conversion of an old historic earthquake prone picture theatre in Papakura into an modern block of apartments and shops.
This was a large and complex project requiring a flexible and intelligent approach from our builders to meet the inevitable challenges we encountered as we progressed through the construction programme to deliver a high quality productive building from a run down, derelict and partially vacant old building.
This also required a significant upgrade to the services in the building to meet current fire and acoustic building standards along with earthquake and leaky building code requirements.
As clients we were very pleased with the outcome and enjoyed working with Heineke Builders who were always professional, resolved problems quickly and effectively and showed initiative when dealing with the myriad of consultants engaged on the project as we progressed through the rebuild project. They often created very cost effective solutions with civil and acoustic engineering consultants.
Another important difference with Heineke Builders has been their after sales service which has been nothing short of excellent.
Most building companies I have dealt with in the past have been very reluctant to return to repair anything under warranty. Not so with Heineke Builders who have always returned to ensure any matters were appropriately repaired and have actively enforced sub-contractors or product suppliers to honour their respective workmanship warranties. For example they arranged for a dishwasher to be replaced soon after the project was completed and within the product manufacturers warranty period. A new one was quickly reinstalled without cost. Another example was a burnt out automatic door locking mechanism, which proved to be a difficult problem to repair. Heineke Builders returned quickly and without fanfare on several occasions, re-worked the door closing design to avoid a repeat occurrence and got the product supplier to replace the burned out auto locking machine under warranty.
They always apply a high degree of common sense to problems and get the results we want.
They continue to address the ongoing maintenance of the building and recently arranged for the replacement of the roof guttering which was not part of the original re-build of the building.
As a client this is an important point of difference.
As a developer and hold Investor that always retains ownership of our properties we place high value on the quality of the build, compliance and workmanship.
